Asalamu’alaikum! As many of you know, this would have been our (Zara and Farina) fifth year raising money for different campaigns supporting our brothers and sisters worldwide 🌍 Whilst sadly we’re unable to sell our classic sweet treats this year, we thought we’d still like to raise money for the ummah in a virtual and collective way, in hope that inshAllah every single one of us that participates can reap the reward!

This year we’ve decided to raise money for Muslim Hands and their water campaign. We hope to raise enough money to build a community water well in areas most needed inshAllah. The building of one well costs £2,600 and provides water to more than 1,000 people. Should we exceed our target, the extra money will go towards funding another well.💧

We have chosen to support the building of water wells this year as it’s a great way of offering a Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) as the donor can expect to reap Allah’s blessings for as long as the well supplies water! ⏱

On the authority of Sa‘d ibn ’Ubadah (ra) who said, ’I asked, “O Messenger of Allah! Which charity is best?” He [saw] replied, “Providing water”’. (Ibn Majah)

In these unsettling and strange times, I’m sure we’re all missing that community spirit we associate with Ramadan. So let’s bring back that feeling of togetherness with a simple Ramadan challenge! 👬👭👫👬👭👫
