Story
On Sunday 1st May 2022, we are launched a School wide challenge for pupils, staff and the Bethany community to “Get Moving in May.” Over the last two years, we are all more aware of how important it is to look after our mental health, be outside more and clear our minds during stressful periods such as exams or studying.
Our challenge not only aims to raise funds for the Mental Health Charity Mind, but also to raise awareness of the importance of looking after our own Mental Health by encouraging everyone to be more active at the weekends and to hopefully start to feel better within themselves.
Mental Health is about how we think, feel and act. Just like physical health, everyone has it and we need to take care of it. That is why it is so important for all of us to include regular movement in our daily lives, as exercise helps boost our mood, improves our energy and can help us sleep.
Our challenge is for everyone, and we hope whole families will get involved if possible. To find a movement that they can do at the weekends, maybe go for a walk with their family or friends, take the dog, ride a bike, go dancing, do some housework, even play a game of sport.
We would love to see what you get up to, whether it's a family bike ride or a trip to the shopping centre. You can share your photos and videos on social media using the hashtag #BethanyMoveforMind.
We look forward to everyone ‘Moving for Mind’ and getting active to feel better in yourselves!
