Story
Please support my step dad and I as we run the London Marathon 2019. This is a massive goal that I am determined to achieve with the help of my step dad, Steve Biggs.
As those that know me well will know, I have suffered with rheumatoid arthritis for over 10 years, making this a huge physical challenge for myself. I have no doubt the training is going to be hard, harder than anything I have ever had to put my knees through before and of course there's then the 26.2 mile run at the end of it all! And of course it's going to be a mental battle too but I am so excited and determined to do this for myself and for such an amazing charity.
Every penny we can raise will help towards the work the YMCA does for the young people and families in England and Wales. The YMCA provide homes for more than 18,000 people experiencing homelessness each year, along with enabling almost 68,000 people every year engage in education and training. They provide wellbeing facilities, provide various support channels for families and are the largest voluntary sector provider of services promoting health and wellbeing and housing for young people in England and Wales. My step dad has done a lot of work for this incredible charity in the past and quite recently, including sleeping rough 'sleep easy' and the Skanska 900 Challenge in January.
I'm really looking forward to supporting this wonderful charity and the physical and mental challenge I have set myself in completing the London Marathon 2019.
No matter how big or small the support, it all counts and will be very much appreciated. Thank you!!!
