Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Unfortunately Beth's Grandma has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and as a family we are now living through the effects of this illness. Although there is currently no cure we are hopeful that places like Alzheimer's Society can help to make it easier for her. Therefore, we are trying to raise money to help her and others who are living with this terrible disease.
*Following Beth's clumsiness in 2023 the marathon sadly did not happen for her (a broken elbow is to blame), so she will be continuing to train and is running the Sheffield Half Marathon again in 2024 and attempt number 2 to make it to the start line of the Rob Burrows Marathon on 12th May 2024. Jake did manage to complete the Marathon but in continued support he will also be completing the Sheffield Half Marathon for the first time in 2024.*
We will be running The Big Half Marathon in London on 4th September 2022, The Classic Tough Mudder on 25th September 2022, The Rob Burrows Marathon in Leeds on 14th May 2023, and Beth will be running The Sheffield Half Marathon on 26th March 2023. Neither of us are runners and so this is a challenge that has taken us out of our comfort zones and forced us to run consistently to train for these events. You can follow how our training has been going so far on our Strava pages.
