I'm setting myself a 'ration challenge', with the aim of eating the rations that a Syrian family receives in a refugee camp in Jordan for one week:
Rice - 1920g
Plain four - 400g
Lentils - 170g
Dried chickpeas - 85g
Tofu - 120g (swapped from sardines)
Kidney beans - 400g
Vegetable oil - 330ml
Why am I doing this?
The more I learn about the situation of refugees in France and Greece, the more horrified I am (for more info I wrote a bit about it in my blog (https://www.refunet.co.uk/blog). Sadly, thousands of those living in these conditions are unaccompanied children. This is why I've decided to raise money for Safe Passage (https://www.safepassage.org.uk/), an amazing charity which works to provide legal aid for unaccompanied minors. To me, legal aid is crucial for helping children escape these conditions and move on with their life.
If I'm being honest, I'm not particularly looking forward to the ration challenge, so any donations to spur me through would be gratefully received!
