Story
My main goal is to raise awareness of Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (SRASAC) and to raise money for them for my 21st Birthday.
The lack of mental health support within the UK is frightening. Without the support of my family and friends the past 5 years, I doubt I would have been here to celebrate my 21st birthday. However, many people aren't as lucky as I was to have such a strong support network, and therefore they rely heavily on mental health services just to survive.
This is why I am amazed that SRASAC continues to provide free services to support survivors of rape and sexual abuse, helping men and women through some of the toughest times of their lives.
This is something I strongly feel needs to be celebrated and supported.
The freedom and strength I have gained within just a couple of sessions at SRASAC has been absolutely priceless to me, and those around me have noticed how far I have come. I can not thank SRASAC enough.
I would love to raise awareness of this service so that other survivors know they are not alone and there is support for them at no cost, and to raise enough money to support survivors to access this service.
"£1 keeps the helpline open for 1 hour.
£35 keeps the Centre open for 1 day paying for costs related to the building.
£45 pays for one face to face counselling sessions – which we strive to keep free for all our clients."
Even if you can not afford a donation, sharing this page can raise awareness and help someone to find support.
Thank you so much.
