Event: Skydive 2020, from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2020
On Saturday 7 March 2020, hundreds of brave fundraisers will skydive together to help end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. Your bravery will mean that fewer people have to face their illness alone.

Story

Anorexia has the highest morality rate of any psychiatric disorder - from medical complications associated with the illness, as well as suicide.

It is estimated 1.25 million people in the UK face this daily struggle. Not enough is done within society to support those 1.25 million individuals. Of that number, 50% will recover, 30% will improve while 20% remain chronically unwell.

I was lucky enough not to be a forgotten figure amongst that 1.25 million. Hospitalisation at 15 is scary but the idea of being overlooked is even scarier. The stigma attached with eating disorders is outdated and needs addressing.

Beat is the leading eating disorder charity in the UK; paving a way for change.

Beat raises money in order to support sufferers as well as their families, but most importantly raise awareness. However, they

cannot continue to prevent deaths and suffering without support. Through taking part in this skydive I am hoping to not only raise funds but to more importantly raise awareness.

Any contribution is valued, no matter how small.
