Story

The Walk

We are participating in a 2km Sponsored Walk in memory of Beth Anne Bach, who recently lost her fight against cancer. Beth Anne was a fellow Habs mum, with 3 children, Edward (Habs Year 4), Abigail (Habs Year 3) and Hugo (Mulberry House School). All of us who were fortunate enough to know Beth Anne remember her extraordinary warmth, energy and love for life.

Who's In?

The Habs Boys Prep School, Habs Girls Junior School, The Mulberry House School, as well as children of all ages and any extended family and friends are all welcome to participate in a 2km Walk around the school grounds.  We hope that the Walk will primarily be an activity by and for the children alongside parents and friends, an idea that Beth Anne herself would have loved to organise!

Donations/Sponsorship

The Royal Marsden is Europe's largest cancer centre, seeing over 40,000 patients at its sites in Sutton and Chelsea every year.  During her three year battle against cancer, Beth Anne was cared for by Professor David Dearnaley at the Royal Marsden Hospital, and it would have been Beth Anne's wish to continue supporting his own research fund.  With the help of your donations today, no matter how big or small, his team at the Institute of Cancer Research will carry on with their ground-breaking work in urology and radiotherapy in order to individualise and improve patients' care and treatment.

For many of our younger Walkers, this will be their first time taking part in a charity event, so please support and encourage them through your donations and personalised messages on this site.  Each child that has sent you this link has access to the webpage and will be able to read your comments and see how much they have collectively raised.  Even donating five pounds will help bring us closer to our target!

The Place

The Walk at Haberdashers will cover gardens, fields, woodlands and cricket pitches!  So if you would also like to show your support by joining us for a morning of great exercise, please meet us at 10am at Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School (using the Coach Park entrance at Aldenham Road, Elstree, Herts WD6 3AF).  There is just a one pound registration fee per Walker to cover public liability insurance.  Remember to bring a hat, sun cream and some water if it's going to be a hot and sunny day!  If the day turns out to be a really great day, feel free to bring a picnic lunch for after the Walk as the school has also kindly allowed us to enjoy the grounds around the Pavilion until 3pm.

So please sponsor us now!

Or meet you at the Starting Line...!!

For more information or to volunteer on the day, please contact Cecilia Yee on 07780 701 881 or email  BAcharitywalk@gmail.com to let us know you'll be joining us!
