Great North Run 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·
As many of you know, Cameron and I decided to run the great north run when our Dad was diagnosed with myeloma in January 2020, however it was cancelled due to COVID.
After the toughest year of our lives, our Dad died in February 2021. We are both running this half marathon in his memory and to try and raise as much money as possible for Myeloma UK. A lot of people are unaware of this type of cancer, and unfortunately we had to find out about it the hardest way. The aim of us taking part in the great north run is to try and raise awareness of this cruel cancer.
I'm running to help make myeloma history! Myeloma UK's research aims to help patients live longer and live better with myeloma, with a cure as an ultimate goal. Research is critically important because myeloma is a complex cancer with no known cure. It's also relapsing and remitting which means many patients are in desperate need of that next treatment.
