Story
To say last year was a challenge is an understatement and that is why I wanted to take on a challenge... but make it positive!
Back in September 2023 my partner and I attended our 20 week scan to receive the news that they couldn’t find a heartbeat. The days that followed were life changing. We were in disbelief, trying to process what we had just been told & grieve for our little one who we were so excited to meet. We received the best care from Leighton hospital throughout this time & that is where we finally met our little girl on the 15th September. Leighton was where we also first heard about Sands & how they could help support us.
Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, operates across the UK: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.
They depend on the amazing energies of their supporters to raise the vital funds that they need to deliver the wide range of services that they offer. #TeamSands
We stand with all families affected by stillbirth and neonatal death and along with our cocker spaniel Cooper I'm walking 50km (or more 🤭) over the month of May to support research to save babies' lives and ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. It really means so much to me that you've visited my fundraising page. I'm so grateful for anything you're able to donate. Thanks in advance! 💙🧡
