Story
"Walk in Her Name is close to my heart as I recently lost my mum, June, to ovarian cancer.
She was my inspiration and I'm very proud that I'm doing this for her.
Let's come together, celebrate, remember - and champion the women in our lives."
I’m Beth Mead - footballer, Lioness and ambassador for Ovarian Cancer Action. And I’m proud to be back as team captain for Walk in Her Name 2024.
With my Arsenal team mates, who have supported me endlessly, we'll be taking part in Walk in Her Name.
We'll be tracking our steps across the pitch and throughout training, to help raise vital funds for ovarian cancer research.
Ovarian Cancer Action
Currently only 3 in 10 women diagnosed with ovarian cancer live beyond 10 years. It’s unacceptable.
With 7500 women receiving an ovarian cancer diagnosis in the UK each year, it’s vital we make faster progress to reach a vision of ovarian cancer being survivable for all women.
You can find out more about the campaign, along with details on how to get involved at ovarian.org.uk/walk
Walk in Her Name 2024
This Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, we’re calling on you to come together and walk 100km in March, both in celebration of the women we love and in memory of the women we’ve lost.
Walk in Her Name is so much more than a challenge. It’s a community coming together, uniting for a world where every woman will survive ovarian cancer.
Join and be a part of a movement that pushes our mission forward. Walk to remember. Walk to support. Walk to change the lives of women with ovarian cancer. Walk to fund our next big breakthrough.
For you, for her, for every woman.
