The Fun Bit!
On Sunday June 23rd we (me & Steve) will set out on a 138 mile adventure around Cumbria. We plan to travel all over the county visiting as many breweries as we can and chatting to as many interesting people as possible along the way.
We will be carrying an empty beer cask with us (tempting as a full one was it would have been too heavy and the beer would have gone off!) and, as well as hiking, we will be canoeing, cycling and swimming with the cask and also carrying it over both Loughrigg and Helvellyn.
Although we don't anticipate requiring the help of Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association (LDSAMRA) we're often out in the hills and know how quickly and easily things can go wrong. The teams that make up LDSAMRA are all volunteers who are called out in all weathers to help people who have got into trouble on the fells, so the least we could do is raise some money for them on our adventure.
Donations are welcome here and we'll have a collection tin with us on our journey. We'll also be writing a book about this ridiculous escapade (Brewers Loop, out spring 2020) and will be donating 10% of the book profits to them as well.
Even the tiniest of donations will help so please donate here or track us down on our journey and pop a few pennies in our tin.
HUGE thanks for your support!
Beth & Steve
