Story
I am super excited to have joined the team for RideMHA, as an absolute cycling amateur, not even owning a bike (yet) this is going to be one big challenge for me. I have no doubt it will push me to my limits both physically and mentally.
Team MHA are taking on a challenging five day bike ride, around 375 miles stopping at MHA communities along the route. Beginning at our very first care home, Ryelands in Surrey, travelling through the picturesque Cotswolds and stunning Peak District National Park before crossing the finish line at our retirement living community, Moor Allerton in Leeds. We rely on donations and fundraising in order to provide our life-enhancing services, chaplaincy, music therapy and our community groups.
Every day I am inspired by the passion, and commitment shown by my team of incredible staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to improve the lives of older people in our community through individual interventions and group social activities, words aren’t quite enough to explain the pride and joy I feel about the work they do.
Fundraising and running community events is something my team do day in day out to ensure they can sustain the activities in the community, so for me, RideMHA is just one small way I can help support them, sharing in the pursuit to enable people to live later life well.
If you can, I would love for you to support myself and the RideMHA team to reach our ambitious target.... and thank you!!
