Fundraising for St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This June will be the 2nd anniversary that we very sadly lost our wonderful Dad to cancer.
Dad sure did put up a couageous fight throughout his illness. Throughtout his brave fight he continually reassured his family and in his final days he still managed a smile, his love and protection for us being evident.
Through the latter stages of his illness, Dad recieves respite care at St Luke's Hospice and ultimately this was the place where he chose to spend his final days. He recieved the best possible care but over and above this he found peace, solice and a great sense of safety and reassurance at the hospice.
I was so grateful for the chance to spend time with Dad at the Hospice along with all of my sisters, my brothers and my Aunt Chris & Uncle Tim, we all shared a really strong bond being there for Dad and each other! The doors were open to us 24 hours a day and in the final day's of Dad's life we were able to stay around the clock just to be with him, hold his hand, talk to him and say goodbye.
I will always owe a huge debt to the Hospice and all its staff for the comfort that Dad found there and the care and support they offered to us just as we needed it most.
Dad was fortunate to have been provided with 1 of the 10 inpatient beds the Hospice has. I don't know what we would have done or how we would have coped without this. The care the Hospice provides is invaluable and should be avaidible to anyone who needs it!
What really amazes me is that the Hospice is supported almost entirely by charitable donations. It costs £6,500 per day to provide patient care and 74% of this is provided by charitable donations.
At the moment, the Hospice has a donation shortfall. If you can, please donate...every single donation no matter how small will help.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send money directly to the charity. So it's the most effecient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate.
