Hephzibah Children's Association peer-to-peer fundraising campaign. Helping children thrive and families flourish since 1897.

Story

Can you spare $30 to help buy shoes for a child in need?  Hephzibah Children’s Association urgently needs to raise money to purchase shoes for the children in its Group Home, which includes its Diagnostic Treatment Center, where abused and neglected children are brought to be evaluated and begin therapy and healing; and its Residence, which provides long-term therapeutic support for Illinois’ worst cases of abuse and neglect.  Many of these children arrive at Hephzibah’s Group Home with nothing, and Hephzibah steps in to provide them with the food, clothing, and love that they need to heal. Right now, Hephzibah needs help to pay for new shoes for all of the children residing in its Home.

Hephzibah is Oak Park's oldest social service agency. Founded in 1897 when a village resident named Mary Wessels opened her home to two young boys. With Mary, these children found safety, sustenance, comfort and love. Today, more than a century later, Hephzibah's mission is a multifaceted one. We offer short-and long-term group homes for children traumatized by neglect and abuse, child welfare and family services, foster care and adoption programs and award-winning day care on a sliding scale for families of all income levels. I am raising funds this this agency because I truly believe Hephzibah is about transforming lives. We bring to Hephzibah on a daily basis, a deep passion for creating an environment where children can grow into beautiful, strong, caring members of society.
