Story
The four Regional Managers approached me shortly after Christmas looking for a ‘charity challenge’.
As a team, they wanted to raise money for one of Betfred’s charities and, after a brief discussion, it was decided that St Ann’s Hospice, a charity very close to Fred personally would be the recipient of the ‘challenge’ but what was the challenge?
So, I have asked them to take on ‘The Yorkshire Three Peaks’ challenge, a gruelling 24 miles that includes a 5,200 feet ascent across Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in under 12 hours.
Having accepted the challenge the Regional Managers have now embarked on an extensive training regime which includes visits to the gym, many, many miles of walking and the odd game of tennis!
Recent evidence would suggest there are still many hours of training ahead of The Challenge! But all for a very worthwhile cause.
St Ann’s Hospice provides amazing levels of care and support to people and their families living with a life-limiting illness in the Greater Manchester community.
Any support would be greatly appreciated, every penny raised will go to this fantastic cause, helping to ensure St. Ann’s Hospice is always there for the people who really need them.
