Story
BES are proud to be part of our local community and we are committed in our support of Springhill Hospice in Rochdale.
This time we have volunteered to take on The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, organised by Springhill Hospice. Our team of six hikers will embark on the fundraising adventure, climbing the biggest peaks in Yorkshire on Saturday 30 July!
The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24 miles (38.6km), and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent. Set in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, the 3 Peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough lie at the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty and scientific interest.
Our hikers: Jon Hallett, Craig Chatburn, James Partington, Chris Hudson, Ben Hamlin and Sandra Stepniak are determined to conquer all three peaks and complete the challenge in less than 12 hours!
Springhill Hospice do a fantastic job for caring for adults aged 18 and over with a life limiting illness. As well as caring for in-patients they also provide respite care, pain and symptom control, counselling for patients and family members, a day hospice for out-patients, hospice care in the home and bereavement advice.
All these services are provided free of charge and we are really keen to help them raise £3 million a year needed to keep the doors of the hospice open.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story! Your donations and support would be gratefully received.
