Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are raising funds for Barnsley Independent Alzheimer's and Dementia Support (BIADS) in loving memory of Beryl Hodgson.

Beryl had been serving pints behind the bar at the Keel Inn since 1968 until it temporarily closed its doors last year due to the pandemic.
She was the life and soul of the pub, famous for her Yorkshire puddings she served on a Sunday, a key part of the darts team and often seen belting out a song on the Karaoke.
However her passion for these things slowly declined due to the onset of Dementia.
A cruel disease which over time slowly eradicates someone’s personality and ability to care fully for themselves.

In memory of all the years she dedicated to entertaining generations of families in their ‘local’ we want to make a donation to try and help others battling this terrible disease.
