Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

My beloved wife Beryl, whom I married in 1955, had more than one battle with cancer during her life.  She won several of them, but the final one, which affected her liver and spine, sadly proved too much, and she passed away peacefully at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington on the evening of 25th July 2016, aged 82.

She felt her time had come, and was grateful for the long and fulfilling life she had led - raising a family, travelling the world, living abroad on several occasions, and making friends across the globe.  She was not in pain thanks to the morphine, and left us as she had lived: without bitterness, and loved by me and her family, including the three sons and five grandchildren of whom she was so proud.

She benefited from the care and kindness of Macmillan nurses on more than one occasion, and I know she would like to support their cause after her passing, by inviting family and friends who feel so inclined to make a donation, rather than sending flowers.  Always a practical lady, she would see this as a much better way to spend any money.

Thank you for visiting, and for your support.

Iain Calder.
