Im running in an attempt to give a little back to JDRF. Diabetes Type 1 is a very underestimated illness, one that can impacts your quality of life for the rest of your life. Over time, it can also damage your health in numerous ways and even shorten your lifespan. People with Diabetes Type 1 didn't ask for it, and any funds raised might just help find better treatments maybe a cure.

deliberately stick a pin in your finger five or more times a day for a week, wake yourself in the night two or three times, try to imagine living under the constant threat of foot problems eventually even amputation, your sight deteriorating long before age has anything to do with it, and your kidneys slowly failing!!!

If me being uncomfortable for a couple of hours (or more...), can help make this better in any way at all, then let the running begin.
