10 years ago my dear Mum died of cancer. On the 9 October, I will run the Royal Parks Half marathon in London in aid of Bowel Cancer UK in her memory.

I barely ran for a bus in Mum’s lifetime and a half marathon is a huge challenge for me, even with a few years of running behind me now.

It has taken weeks of training, physio and flat shoes, high heels and dodgy knees are not a good combination, to get close to running 13 miles and it will hurt on the day but knowing I am raising money for such a good cause will keep me going.

So I will be very grateful for you support and sponsorship. Every penny counts.
