Three Peaks Challenge 2017 · 16 June 2017 to 18 June 2017 ·

We fund medical equipment and services to give our children the best possible care

Story

We will start Ben Nevis between 3-4pm this time difference is to allow a small window in the event good or poor weather conditions. Each bus split into two teams, with the leisurely starting first and the second group starting approximately 30 minutes later. Average time to complete Ben Nevis 5hrs: A good average time to complete Ben Nevis is 5hrs, ideally being away from Fort William within 6hrs.
Depart Fort William 9.00-10.00pm: Our aim will be for both buses to leave Fort William together, we will take a short break at the Scottish Borders, giving the drivers time to stretch their legs and for a toilet break. Then travel as a group to Scafell and start our second peak as one group. Very often this is where teams split.
Arrive Wasdale Head 3.00-4.00am: On arrival at Scafell there will be time for a light breakfast of porridge, snacks and hot drinks.
Average time to complete Scafell Pike 4hrs: Scafell is often found to be the most difficult mountain, mostly due to the difficulty in navigation and the terrain, plus the many steps on the decent, it is vital you stay with your Mountain leader at all times on Scafell Pike.
Depart Wasdale Head 7.00am-8.00am: The road leaving Scafell Pike has lots of bends, once we arrive on the M6 nearly everyone is getting some much needed sleep. At this stop it is recommended you being preparing your kit for Snowdon.
Arrive Snowdon 12.00pm-1.00pm: We arrive at Pen Y Pass, there is usually no parking due to the number of people in the parking area, it is vital you are quick to begin your final peak, we take the PYG Track up Snowdon which takes on average 2 -2.5hrs and descend the Llanberis Path.
Complete Snowdon 4pm
