I have done the skydive! It was exhilirating, an experience to be thoroughly recommended.
We arrived early at Headcorn Parachute Club in Kent and it was a beautiful day. My turn came at last at 530pm. The plane flew to 12,000 feet and my instructor and I jumped off. We did freefall down to 5000 feet at 120mph. There was such a gust of wind on my face. I had to concentrate on breathing in. It happened very fast and suddenly the parachute was out. We then had a lovely leisurely ride downwards. We pulled the cord on the right to do a right turn. It was quite scary and and I screamed. The landing was controlled by the instructor and I just had to lift up my legs.
I loved my tandem skydive. Thank you to all of you your words of encouragement (or concern), and for the donations to Princess Alice Hospice. I have uploaded 3 photos and my video. It is 8:02 minutes long but you can skip the first minute to the bit where I jumped.

Happy new year. I am going to do something new and exciting this year. My dear friend, Rosie, and I will be dong a 10,000 feet tandem skydive on 2 April, 2011. We are raising money for my workplace, Princess Alice Hospice.
