We are delighted to announce that Ben Pavitt’s Legacy of Love Fund (with the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group) has been overwhelmingly chosen by staff to be our 2022/2023 charity partner alongside the British Red Cross: DEC Ukraine Emergency Appeal.
Former Noadswood School pupil Ben, who raised thousands of pounds for charity during 15 months of cancer treatment, was adamant that he wanted his legacy to be one of helping others. Ben’s Fund was launched on the day of his funeral last year by Ben’s dad, Mike Pavitt, a partner at the firm.
Mike Pavitt, on behalf of Ben Pavitt’s Legacy of Love Fund:
“We are incredibly touched that the staff of Paris Smith have chosen to help us raise vital research funding and awareness of the lack of central funding for research into childhood cancers. Every single penny we raise will benefit the 400,000 children and teenagers who are diagnosed worldwide every year. The Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group has been making a difference for 45 years but they need our help today more than ever, so that families like ours might be spared the devastation of losing a child to childhood cancers in the future.”
In just 6 months since Ben’s death in October 2021, nearly £28,000 has been raised for the Fund from individual and corporate online donors and through a series of events and sponsorship opportunities planned well into the future.
Emily Sadler, head of the firm’s Charity Committee:
“The Paris Smith Charity Committee is delighted to be supporting two such excellent charities this year doing vital work at home and overseas; we look forward to publishing updates throughout the year as staff raise much needed funds to assist them both.”
