UPDATE 19.10.09 - Hello there, well I did it! Quite surprised by the time as well, 1hr 57min49sec. A few more donations to collect from Church on the weekend, so hopefully I can be close to the target!
Thanks for your support!
Ben
UPDATE 12.10.09 - Hey raised £90 at church (Caldicot) yesterday, haven't checked Chepstow yet as we have 2 churches in the parish. Here's hoping a few pledged some cash there. OLes than a week left now, a few little runs this week to keep my muscles/joints going. I'll let you know in a week how it went.
Thanks again
Ben
UPDATE 23.09.09 - So the training is going well. I've done a 9.5 mile run so far, the program I have got takes me up to 10 miles before taking it easier prior to the race. Felt good after the 9.5 miles, done in about 1hr 34mins. So on track for 10min miles to finish the race in about 2hrs 10mins!
Definately felt as if I could have kept going, so I'm happy with where my training is going.
Thanks for all your support
Ben
Hi All,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Yes it is true, I am running the Cardiff 1/2 Marathon. Not sure how it will go considering I have never run in an organised running event since once around the field at St Mary's Primary!!!
I've begun training and have done a number of 6 mile runs around Chepstow, which is a pain as you can't go anywhere without facing some killer hills! Thankfully the course in cardiff is pretty flat, so I should be able to get around without killing myself trying to get up the peaks of Chepstow!!!
I'll be running for CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development). CAFOD is the official overseas development and relief agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and is involved in numerous projects around the world, helping people to get themselves out of poverty through many different means.
I hope you are able to dig deep and support me in this mighty challenge I have set myself, trust me I am not a natural runner!!!!
Thanks
Ben
p.s. I have no idea how much momey I can raise, so if I have reached my target when you come to donate don't stop donating. Help me SMASH through my target!!
