We offer practical and pastoral support to help farming families through hard times

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.

I fancied a bit of a challenge so I am taking part in 'Lap the Lough', cycling around Lough Neagh (pronounced Lock Nay for those not lucky enough to have married a lovely girl from Northern Ireland and to have been trained in the local lingo).

I am doing the cycle in memory of my younger brother Jonathan, who we lost in 2007, after he took his own life. The Farming Community Network have a helpline, 0845 367 9990 and provide support and a listening ear to those who are in difficulty or those that think someone they know may be struggling. By supporting them hopefully other families can be spared such heartbreak.

Being the thrifty type I am going to complete the lap on my old second hand mountain bike, as I could not bring myself to buy a fancy new road bike (I suspect riding a road bike would be easier).

I am also offering a prize (nothing too exciting) to whoever guesses what my lap time will be, including pit stops. If you would like to take part just put your guess in the message when you, hopefully, sponsor me.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you, Benjamin
