Story

Hello!

I am going to try and run around Oxford, which gives me an opportunity to ask people to give some money to charity.

I'd like to raise some money for RAPt. RAPt (the Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners Trust) works to help people with drug and alcohol dependence, both in prison and in the community, move towards, achieve and maintain positive and fulfilling drug-free and crime-free lives.

There is evidence that shows that they help people who are committing crime, and, in doing, cut reoffending rates and the money that is spent in the criminal justice system.

You can read more about them at their website: http://www.rapt.org.uk/page.asp?section=29&sectionTitle=Vision%2FMission%2FCore+Beliefs

And here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/may/11/abstinence-based-approach-prisoners-drug-addiction

Details of a study demonstating the effectiveness of RAPt's approach can be found here:http://www.rapt.org.uk/news.asp?section=36&sectionTitle=News+%26+Views&itemid=260
