Story
This one is for you Daddy 🧡🍊🏃♂️
On 4th September 2021, my life changed. After a 12 year battle with a rare form of dementia called Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA), my amazing Dad, George, passed away. I have held off making this page for 2 reasons- 1 because I was dreading writing about the fact that I lost my Dad to this disease and secondly because instead of hounding you all for a year, I wanted to condense the begging to a shorter duration! 😂
As many of you know, back in 2020, I ran the London Marathon for Alzheimer’s Research UK, and raised a fantastic amount thanks to the generosity of my friends. Unfortunately, due to Covid, the event that year during lockdown was made virtual, so I never got to experience the true London Marathon race day.
This year, I am doing the real thing and I am now asking you with 2 months to go until the big day, to once again put your hand in your pocket and sponsor me. I know that times are incredibly hard at the moment, so anything you can afford to donate would make such a huge difference.
Once again, I will be running in support of the magnificent Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure.
The current mission of the charity is to bring about the first life-changing dementia treatment by 2025. Our vision is a world where people are free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia.
Please give generously. Thank you. Ben x
