Story
Last year was a horrific year for my family and me. My beautiful, fit and healthy 36 year old brother went to the doctors with symptoms of tiredness and was quickly diagnosed with. Stage 4 cancer.
Within 2 weeks of the diagnosis he died having a devastating effect on the family. Personally as his brother I took it very hard and needed a lot of help and support to get myself back on my feet to be able to function again. With the help of an absolutely fantastic family and a lot of talking therapy from Mind I was able to turn things around and now am in a much better position.
I’m well aware that with covid and isolation there will be a lot of people about to go though what me and my family went though last year and mental health will be at the forefront of preventing people taking there own lives or being able to make sense and function again.
So it’s time to give back.
My original plan was to ride from Lands End to John O Groats but with lockdown and travel restrictions likely I’m now planning to complete this challenge locally.
I would also urge people to do there own ride on any given day that I’m doing the ride to raise awareness, be it a mile or a full hundred. Let’s do it for Eric and for Mind.
