Story
In honour of National Self Care Week (12-18 NOVEMBER 2018) Milk Teeth are teaming up with BEAT (beateatingdisorders.org.uk) to raise money to help them continue their amazing work in supporting not just those with disordered eating but their loved ones too.
It costs £7,700 to run BEAT'S support lines for one week and these are open 365 days of the year.
To raise money we will be holding SELF CARE SESSIONS on each date of our headline tour!
Come and hang out with us! There will be opportunity to jam some music, paint yours/our nails, try a face mask, listen to records, draw and make bracelets. 100% of all money raised will go to BEAT.

16.11 - THE CAFE @ MUTHERS STUDIO - BIRMINGHAM - 6-7PM

Why BEAT?
Life is hectic with or without a mental health issue.
Eating disorders make people very hard on themselves, often thinking they don't deserve to treat themselves or deserve self care. Rituals and associated behaviours often involve self punishment but we all need and deserve self care.
B (Vocalist / Bassist of Milk Teeth) has spent 15 years battling with and maintaining recovery from 3 forms of disordered eating both before Milk Teeth and during our career.
"BEAT provided solace for my mum when I was at my worst and their work is invaluable both listening to and providing advice and treatment support for all those involved in the life of someone with an ED.
Since I first discovered the charity over ten years ago they have continued to find ways to expand with technology and be at the forefront of creating accessible channels for young people to talk freely about their struggles online. They are one of the charities leading the way with weekly online support groups and forums for family members living with someone battling an ED alongside being a safe space for those living day to day with an eating disorder to discuss how they feel and things that may not make sense to those who haven't experienced it themselves.
I will be updating a video / blog series on my own story in more detail and why this fundraising is so important to me with links along the way."
You can read other eating disorder sufferers own stories here https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/your-stories for a little more insight into living with and recovering from disordered eating.
Thank you to all those who have viewed this page, even more so if you've donated anything towards this cause.
BE NICE OR GO AWAY,
MILK TEETH xoxo
