Story
This May I'll be putting on my running shoes and taking part in the Purple Wave half marathon to support Manchester's cancer research. The majority of people in some way have had their lives impacted by cancer and my family are no exception to this. In November 2020 we lost the most loving, kindest and caring grandmother to a battle with cancer. From my childhood she always made me feel so safe and I enjoyed every single minute that I spent with her.
Words cannot describe just how strong she stayed throughout and she continued to put a smile on my own and everyone's faces. My grandmother inspired me to do so much in my life and to be a better person. I still miss her to this day.
Cancer researchers in Manchester are working hard to improve how cancer is treated and help more patients with cancer get back to normal life. A new cancer centre will be opening soon which is designed to speed up research progress, it'll be a world-class centre bringing new hope to people with cancer and any money raised will be going towards this cause.
I may not be able to tell my Grandmother how much she did for me, but I hope I can complete this in her memory and raise money to help others.
