Race to the Tower 2022 · 25 June 2022 to 26 June 2022 ·

With a new blood cancer diagnosis every 27 seconds worldwide, Cure Leukaemia funds research nurses at UK blood cancer centres, giving patients access to treatments through clinical trials. This support drives global significant advancements in blood cancer, impacting those affected by the disease.

Story

Shortly before Christmas ‘21 Callum and Charley received the awful news that their little Marley had been diagnosed with Leukaemia. Callum has been a teammate of mine for many years at Uttoxeter RFC. The  club and community have rallied around the family with different events to raise money for different charities that have helped the Shaw/Straughton family along the way. This is the latest challenge in raising some funds to help fight the battle against Leukaemia.

On June 25th I shall be taking part in Race to the Tower, a 53 mile UltraMarathon that will take me through the trails of the Cotswolds. It’s a massive challenge, one I hope people can get behind and give what they can no matter how small.

Thank you all for continuing to support Callum, Charley and Marley, they have absolutely smashed these last few months! 💪🏻

Much Love, Benj x

Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK. Without these nurses, to ensure patients are monitored and cared for, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients, that have exhausted standard treatment options, would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies. Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.
