Brain Tumour UK strives to fight brain tumours.  It focuses on:

1.  providing support to sufferers of;

2.  funding research into; and

3.  raising awareness of

brain tumours!

As many of you know, over the last 3 years this Charity, and what it works towards, has become incredibly relevant to me, my family and particularly to my Mum.

I have been given the wonderful opportunity to run in the London Marathon, with the ultimate aim of raising as much money as I possibly can for Brain Tumour UK.

Please help me to achieve this goal!

In 2006, Mum's world changed forever as she was diagnosed with a brain tumour.   It had already grown to a considerable size and was in an incredibly awkward position - the only shimmer of light being that it was benign.

Despite numerous trips to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Mum losing her entire memory for 3 months and a total of 20 hours of surgery; unfortunately a part of the tumour still remained.  It has destroyed 3 cranial nerves and showed signs of affecting Mum's eye sight, but a course of Radiotherapy in 2010 seems to have halted it.

Our hope is that after more than 3 years, Mum will soon be told that the remaining part of the tumour is dead, so that she can get on with life without the constant worry of more problems and treatment.

Mum has been so strong throughout, often in the face of great adversity, and she has amazed us all by making a miraculous recovery.

I am so excited to run this Marathon and raise lots of money for such a worthwhile cause, with Mum as my inspiration!
