My name is Ben Le Masurier. I live in Syndey, Australia and my family live in Hurstgreen in Surry, England.

On the 1st May 2011 I’ll be participating in an Ironman triathlon event in Port Macquiarie, NSW, Australia. It consists of 2.4mile swim, 112mile bike ride and a 26mile run. All participants have 17 hours to complete the course.
 
I’ve decided to raise some money for charity. The charity I have chosen is Hospice in the Weald in Tunbride Wells. Last year my uncle lost his fight with cancer, Hospice in the Weald made this terribly difficult situation more bearable for my family and friends. This charity means a lot to me and now I would like to try to
help them out and raise a little money for them.
 
The Hospice depends on the generosity of its community to fund 90% of its operating costs.  Despite the low level of funding by the government the Hospice has succeeded in expanding its services and helping more people year on year.
