Bristol to Surrey on the turbo · 9 May 2020

OTR (Off the Record Bristol) is a mental health social movement by and for young people. OTR provides mental health support and info to young people aged 11-25 across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. Our services are free, confidential, self-referral.

Story

May 10th will be the 25th anniversary of my dad’s death. To mark this day, I’m planning to ride 188km on my turbo trainer on Saturday night/ early Sunday morning. This is the distance from my house in Bristol to dad’s memorial bench in Surrey. I’m doing this to raise money for a Bristol charity called OTR. OTR provide mental health services and support to young people between the ages of 11 and 25.

This particular anniversary has prompted me to reflect on my own journey through bereavement and loss. I’ve decided to share my experience by writing an article for OTR. I hope it explains why I feel the service they provide is so important.

The article is here: https://www.otrbristol.org.uk/2020/05/ben-blog/

Thank you for supporting OTR.
