Story
Overall in the world, nearly 800,000 people a year take their own lives because they couldn’t deal with life anymore. This shouldn’t be happening and more should be done to stop it. Moreover, 75% of this figure are from men. Therefore, in an effort to help fight this problem, starting on the 2nd of November, I will be running 10 kilometres a day, for 60 days, in turn equating to 600 kilometres run, 1 kilometre for every 1,000th man who commits suicide every year.
I have decided to do this at this time of the year because it is a time where people feel alone the most. It get’s dark at 4pm, Christmas beckons and it is a real struggle for some people in the winter especially with the cost of living crisis having a major burden on people and therefore I realised it was the right time to try and make a difference. To try and make a difference for every man out their that struggles to open up, feels like they have no one to talk to or no where to go, everyone does and I hope this manages to inspire many people to reach out for help. There is always a way out, a future, a time to feel happy once again and James’ Place have the best facilities to help tackle the crisis of male suicide, the biggest killer amongst men under the age of 50
Any donations would mean the world to me and James’ place so they can help men every day live another day.
Every £20 supports: Could pay for a man in suicidal crisis to join our peer support group to offer and gain support from other men
Every £50 supports: Could pay for the welcome assessment of one man in suicidal crisis
Every £100 supports: Could pay for one therapy session for a man in suicidal crisis
Updates are on my instagram (ben.goddard_) of the runs and routes.

Thanks for all the support,
Ben
