Story
Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2022 and underwent a Mastectomy in March 2022. After what was a late diagnosis we were all very concerned for Mum's well-being as we all sat tight and hoped for the best. Mum went on to undergo chemotherapy and then radiotherapy treatment, which was a long journey not only for her but our close family also, as we could only offer our emotional support whilst Mum battled it out like a rockstar!
10 months on from Mum's diagnosis she is well but still undergoing some treatment although the worst of it is over. We hope that Mum will continue to live cancer free!
Macmillan is just one of the great charities that supported Mum during her treatment...from counselling to even helping her source a temporary (very fancy) new head of hair that looks awesome!
I will be attempting to run the London Marathon for the first time ever in 2023 in the hope to raise some money for this amazing charity. For those that do not know a Marathon is around 42.1km and as it stands right now I have only ever run around 26km so it is going to be challenging for sure!
Not only this but to make it harder for myself but for my first-ever marathon I am going to be ATTEMPTING to run a sub-3-hour time which only the top 2% of all marathon runners will complete. Now I am not saying this is going to happen...but I am going to try! I would be over the moon with 3 hours 15 minutes but you have to give it your best shot!
The race is also 2 days after my 29th Birthday so the beers are going to have to wait till the finish line.
I would massively appreciate your support in hitting my fundraising target and helping me push towards my finishing time!
See you at the finishing line for a beer!
