Story
I am raising money for the Amnesty International UK Charitable Trust by taking part in the Colombia Lost City Challenge with the University of Plymouth. Over 9 days I will trek through the rainforest to visit Ciudad Perdida (the 'lost city') with its maze of raised terraces and stone paths and experience a guided tour of this beautiful architectural marvel. You'll be supporting Amnesty International UK, a grassroots organisation campaigning for justice and human rights wherever they have been denied. For more information on their work, go to www.amnesty.org.uk/issues.
For me personally, the opportunity to see so many new and vibrant cultures is irresistible and coupled with the fact that I get to partner with Amnesty who have done soo much important work in trying to right the wrongs done by people in positions of power. Specifically, when it comes to the efforts done by Amnesty to help so many brave journalists who risk their lives to expose corruption and authoritarianism.
