Last year I was lucky enough to take part in the Ride London and even luckier to be able to raise money for the Roy Castle Foundation, thanks to the generosity of my wonderful friends. Less fortunately, we raced through a bona fide hurricane (Bertha) that not only left us a little soggy but also shortened the ride to 86 rather than 100 miles. So with a little unfinished business to take care of I have decided to give it another go this year.
This time, I'll be riding for the Children's society, a fantastic charity that focusses on providing opportunities for disadvantaged children. I was overwhelmed by your generosity last year so please don't feel the need to sponsor me again. But if you didn't get around to it last year and could spare a couple of quid for a good cause and like the idea of sending a fat bloke up a hill wheezing, then I'd be hugely grateful.
