Story
Dear Friends,
You may recall that last year I challenged myself for charity to ride the Dragon Ride Medio Fondo through the Brecon Beacons for the very worthy cause of MacMillan nurses who do a huge amount of good in helping those who suffer from cancer and their families. The ride is just shy of 100miles but encompasses a large amount of climbing (7,838ft close to the equivalent in elevation of Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon stacked on top of themselves)
I managed to make it round in a moving time of 7:30 hours in 2017 but far more impressive and a fact that I only learned afterwards by photographic evidence was that I scowled, grimaced and gurned the entire way. Here are just some of the happy expressions I pulled during those 7:30 hrs. I was actually having the time of my life, honest.
Here we are again another year and I am none the wiser. Heading back to the Brecons with my pals hoping to get round faster (or just get round).
Please can I ask you to give generously to MacMillan nurses at this link in support of my midlife crisis. They rely on events like this and confused middle aged men like me participating to be able to help people who really need help.
A final thought from the excellent Ladybird book on Midlife Crises
