my son ben and i are cycling for the christie hospital in manchester that specialises in the treatment of all cancers. it is a beacon of light against the shroud of darkness that cancer throws over the sufferers and family alike. 

my beautiful daughter charlotte, ben's sister, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer of the appendix in 2008. it was also rare to find it in young woman of her age. she was 21. for 3 years she was under the care of the christie who were there for her and us in equal measures. sadly my lovely girl succumbed to the disease in july 2012. 

through constant research, the christie are now better equipped to treat such a cancer. every year, new techniques, new treatments and new machines are developed, all done to fight this evil disease. 

so for the christie...my beautiful girl and the many that have gone with her...and for ben and myself...give us a push!
