Story
As a last minute thing due to the kind donation of his place by my friend Ben, I did the London to Brighton Bike Ride on Sunday 17th June 2012. Also of great help on the day were Michael, Joe and George who got me and my bike home, Craig who helped fix my bike when the chain broke, a Boy Scout who re-filled my water bottle, and the lovely ladies selling takes about 13 miles out of Brighton, yumm! It was a fantastic day, bright and warm, with lots of friendly chats along the way.
The ride is done for charity by the British Heart Foundation (who incidentally have great second hand book shops if you can find them). A lot of effort obviously goes into this day with over 27,000 riders, manned pit stops with refreshments and mechanics, marshalls along the way, getting a fair amount of road closed to other traffic, and the assistance of local police forces. So, donations, however small, would be appreciated to help BHF and keep this great charity event going.
(P.S. I know the picture isn't great, it's a bit difficult to take a picture of yourself in full sun!)
