Ben & Simon’s Choose 8 (8 peaks, 8000ft of climbing and 18miles) for Year 8!

Ben & Simon, two Love for Life team members, are taking on the infamous Mourne Seven Seven challenge (with an extra peak to make it Eight!)

The Seven Sevens is an 18 mile, 8100ft test of endurance and mountain skills . The objective is to climb all seven peaks in the Mourne Mountains that are over 700m above sea level following your own route between fixed checkpoints in one day.

We've all experienced a lot of change in recent months, but children heading into Year 8 have even more change to come.
This would have been an unsettling time anyway, but in current circumstances our Year 8 pupils face an even bigger upheaval.

This year we want to provide a resource to every post-primary school that will help support our Year 8 pupils as they begin school in September - we need your help to make it happen.

'Unlocked' is a specifically written resource with Year 8 pupils in mind - pupils who had to leave their primary schools so unexpectedly in March and who are starting post-primary in September, but in a very different context to the one they had imagined.
The programme is consists of three 30-minute downloadable sessions, that can be used in the classroom or at home. Our team will lead the sessions through videos and there will be opportunities for pupils to pause and reflect on their experiences over these months during COVID-19.
