Story
I’m attempting to run 100 miles in January. That’s over 5x what I normally run in a month.
January is not a month known for its glorious sunny days that inspire you to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. It's damp and dark and I don’t mind sharing that my post-Christmas spare tyre is clinging on!
Why? To raise money for the Alzheimer's Society because Alzheimer's is impacting the people I love, and running 3.1 miles a day is a cinch compared to living with Alzheimer’s.
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia, a progressive disease with no current cure. One in 14 people aged over 65 has dementia. This rises to 1 in 6 for people aged over 80. The Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. They campaign for change, fund research to find a cure and support people living with dementia today.
So if you have a few quid going spare then I’d be hugely grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my £500 target. All the money raised will help the Alzheimer's Society be there for the people who need them most.
Thank you
Bella
