Story
This September I’ll be doing my first full Ironman triathlon in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. That means I get to:
- Swim 3.8 km (2.4 miles) in the Adriatic Sea
- Bike 180 km (112 miles) through the countryside of northern Italy
- Run 42.2 km (26.2 miles) through the streets of Cervia and Milano Marittima.
Shortly after starting to train, I lost my most enthusiastic supporter, all-weather training buddy, and general inspiration: my dad.
Since he can’t be there to cheer me on, I will instead be running in his memory and aim to raise £1200 for the British Heart Foundation.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK, but relies on support from people like us to create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.
Thanks!
