Hello!
And thank you for visiting the latest fundraising page of the Veronica Claxton memorial fund, a fund set up after the death of my mother Veronica from cancer aged 50 in 2008. To date we have managed to donate over £310,000 to various worthy causes. The last few years have seen us dedicate the majority of our fundraising to CLIC Sargent who support young people in the UK suffering with cancer. Our £250,000 challenge for them which has now gone past £225,000 can be viewed at www.justgiving.com/teams/target250k
The VCMF Cycling team are back on the road this summer taking in the huge challenge of cycling 600 miles from the hub of many of our rides, The King of the Belgians pub in Hartford all the way across into Holland and Germany finishing under the Brandenburg gate in Berlin.
After successful tours in 2016 (London to Paris), 2017 (Edinburgh to London) and 2018 (King of the Belgians to Belgium and back ). These three cycles have seen over £50,000 raised for CLIC Sargent and we really hope to significantly add to that with your help and support.
As always the lads have self funded the large proportion of the trip and we thank the companies who have supported us in making up the last remaining bit which help us cover the large costs taking 20 men away for a week accrues.
This years cycling squad will be made up of : Luke Claxton, Ade Tattersall, Joe Bidwell, Nick Dean, Glen Huddle, Richard Todd, Dave Rigby, Dave Pinner, Andy Park, Paul Innes, Paul Jenner, Mark Ling, Liam Johnson, Daniel Moyes, Adam Cundick and Dougie Gallimore and as always we couldn’t do it without the help of our support crew who will this year be made up of Andy Claxton, John Bevan, Daniel Smith and Craig Green.
Thank you as always for your wonderful support.
Luke Claxton
