Story
A cause close to our own hearts and seeing first-hand how sport can really benefit mental health and wellbeing, we are raising funds for www.empirefightingchance.org founded in Bristol and now expanding nationally. They are requiring much needed funds to expand their personal development program which support and encourage vulnerable young people overcome their various mental health challenges, who are failing at school and in danger of drifting into a life of unemployment, crime and worst. Through non-contact boxing underpinned by intensive personal development they really help turn lives around.
Personally visiting the charity and seeing first-hand the incredible difference they are making to young lives, we are very excited to be able to raise funds through our cycle challenge.
We decided to take on this big challenge as neither of us have cycled this distance of 400km on consecutive days.
Please help us support this amazing charity who is growing nationally. Any amount is really appreciated.
Please do take a look at their website www.empirefightingchance.org.
EMPIRE FIGHTING CHANCE
We use a powerful combination of non-contact boxing and intensive personal support to challenge and inspire young people to realise their unique potential. We focus on vulnerable young men and women, including those excluded from school, involved in crime and experiencing mental health issues. Run from gyms in deprived communities, we offer young people a tailored programme featuring boxing, mentoring, education, therapy and careers support. Our work changes lives, improving young people’s education, mental health and career prospects.
"I can’t recognise the person I was 3 years ago. My attitude has improved towards education and where I want to go in life. Empire Fighting Chance has made me realise there are more important things than smoking drugs and getting into fights. I can’t thank them enough." - Sam A
