Story
The Area teams in the Central & West Region are going head-to-head in a fun and exciting team-based challenge in the Brecon Beacons in June this year. The theme of the challenge is based on the film ‘Behind Enemy Lines’ with the aim to find a downed pilot whose plane has crashed in the wild Brecon Beacons National Park. Each of the six teams taking part will be given tasks to solve in return for clues and co-ordinates to the next challenge, that will eventually lead to the location of the stranded pilot. The winning team will be the one that is quickest in successfully completing each of the tasks and ultimately finding and extricating the pilot from the mountains.
The event is designed to be fun and challenging, with the added aim of raising money for two very worthwhile charities, and therefore we would be extremely grateful if you would kindly sponsor the event with a donation, with the proceeds being split between the following two charities;
Lymphoma Action – We sadly lost our dear friend and colleague Gary Owens to Lymphoma last year. Gary was a key member of our Cardiff team and we miss his gentle yet professional approach together with his fun and friendship. The event will enable us to remember Gary whilst raising money for this worthwhile charity.
Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal – Many people in our region have identified this appeal as one that they would like to support. Donating to this appeal will help the Disasters Emergency Committee charities provide food, water, shelter and healthcare to refugees and displaced families.
The teams are very much looking forward to the challenge, with some taking it a little too seriously with training already being organised! We very much hope that you will be able to support the event and the two nominated charities.
