Allan Mallinson was commissioned into the Kings Own Border in August 1969 with whom he served for 10 years before transferring to 13/18 Hussars.  He served for 35 years in the Army and retired with the rank of brigadier. He is also an acclaimed writer of historical military fiction.

He has researched the events leading to the beginning of the First World War and of 1914. For his work on 1914 he developed a new interpretation based on insights gained from his experiences as a staff officer in the Directorate of Military Operations.

Our hosts will be the Fusiliers Museum and the event includes a sandwich lunch, a glass of wine and the opportunity to network in the exclusive surroundings of the Fusiliers Mess in HM Tower of London.
