Story
Meningitis is a word that many people know but how many people are actually aware of the infection itself and what signs and symptoms to look about for?
Reggie came into this world happy and healthy, changing each day, growing, laughing and playing. He was taken away from us on the 13 March 2018, when he was fourteen months old, after developing influenza, pneumococcal meningitis and septicaemia. The first sign of meningitis that we noticed was upon arriving at the hospital. We may have spotted signs earlier had we had awareness and knowledge of the infection.
We are putting together a road trip that will take us from Brighton to the Isle of Man over five days, visiting Aylesbury and Liverpool along the way. There will be ten teams, driving in cheap, ready for the scrap yard vehicles, competing in team challenges during the tour to rack up points. The team with the least points will be doing a forfeit…any suggestions are welcomed!
Our aim is to not only to raise money for research and providing support to families affected by meningitis, but also to raise awareness of the infection itself and know what signs and symptoms to look out for. Knowing these could be the key to saving a loved ones life.
